Picture Your Story

Conflicts between young people from different backgrounds and fear of the “other” is a common problem throughout the European Union. Because the situation in some EU Member States is quite tense, for example due to the arrival of refugees, we developed a storytelling project for several countries within Europe.

A new method

During a European Strategic Partnership of 22 months, we designed a method to bring young people from different backgrounds into contact with each other. We support them in building a respectful, resilient and peaceful community. We did this by using visual language and storytelling techniques that youth workers can now use all over Europe.

Picture Your Story: Embrace Identity

  • A digital toolkit that can easily be used in various contexts on a large scale through the use of both storytelling and visual language, using digital possibilities (such as the internet, but also visual language tools such as Instagram and Pinterest).
